David Goes Forth for a Fourth at Chorlton Mark

Wednesday the 6th of February saw our Deputy Provincial Grand Master witness the fourth time Installation of W.Bro. David Emmett into the Chair of Chorlton Mark Lodge. David, father of the Lodge and a Past Provincial Grand Warden of the Province, was first Installed in 1992 then in 1999 and again in 2010. He is no glutton for punishment saying, “it is an honour and pleasure to serve” and as one of the best ritualists the Lodge has seen we say, “thank Heaven for that”.
After conducting the business of the Lodge, the W.M.M. was pleased to receive V.W.Bro. Geoffrey Herbert Lee, P.G.J.O. and his entourage of Grand Officers including our very own W.Bro. Austin Norton Fletcher, Acting Grand Steward. Bro. Lee received the gavel of the Lodge but returned it in short order to W.M.M. W.Bro. Malcolm Jacobs who conducted the shortened ceremony of Installation in a manner which the Lodge was very proud of.

In summing up the ceremony V.W.Bro. Lee commended the Installing Master W.Bro. Jacobs and the Lodge Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Michael J. Tonge P.Prov.G.S.O., for the hard work they had obviously put in.

However, the proceedings were not concluded at this point. There were no less than three Grand Lodge Certificates to be presented. But who to present them? After much discussion among the Grand Officers, V.W.Bro. Lee delegated W.Bro. Graham Bailey, P.G.J.D. and the P.G.M.’s Special Representative to present them to Bros. Ezra McGowan, Daren Gregory and Edward Wilkinson.

The evening concluded with the usual festivities renowned among Mark Master Masons after marking well. Chorlton Lodge’s special thanks go to W.Bro. Bryan Fox, P.A.G.D.C., Prov.A.G.D.C. for his kind and efficient work overseeing the evenings proceedings.
